Welcome.

United Methodists are very intentionally connectional people. We want to help connect people’s passions with the needs of others. At University Park UMC, we are committed to this, whether it’s connecting people with needs in the neighborhood, or places around the world. We stand by to help you get better acquainted, acclimated - connected - to the calling God has within your life. Your presence is a gift to our church family. My prayer is that our church family will be a gift to you.

Peace and Blessings,
Dr. Keith Boone

About Sunday School:

University Park United Methodist Church offers a variety of Sunday school classes for people of all ages. From birth through adulthood, our Sunday school classes seek to bring faith to life through Biblical study, fellowship, service to others, and care and support for each other. Whether a child or student, married or single, with or without children at home, church member or guest, we provide support and a firm foundation for a Christian lifestyle.

All Sunday School classes meet  from 9:45-10:45 a.m., between our two worship services. Most children's classes meet on the first floor, and most adult classes are on the second floor. Music Ministry

Music Ministry

The Ministry of Music at University Park United Methodist Church is an exciting ministry that offers opportunities of service through musical arts for ages ranging from kindergarten through adults. Throughout history, music – as well as other arts – has provided Christians a wonderful means of expressing their faith. Our music ministry at seeks to bring to life the great musical treasures of the past and to present lively performances of music of our own time.

Music has always been an important part of our worship experience. Music in the church is an offering to the Glory of God, and the music ministry seeks to create beauty and inspiration as it leads in worship. Music is also an effective tool in the teaching of the Christian faith and the scriptures.

The choir experience includes the learning of the great hymns and anthems of the Church, skills in singing and music-reading, learning about the worship of the church, fellowship activities and service. Each of the choirs welcomes new members, whether experienced or beginning. There are no auditions for membership, and the only qualification is a true desire to be of service to God and the Church.

OUR MUSICAL RESOURCES

Our musical resources are a testament to the importance of this ministry to the life of our church.  In 1978, the church engaged the services of Alfred Kern of Strasbourg, France to build the spectacular 46-stop, 69-rank mechanical action pipe organ that stands at the front of the sanctuary.  Our resources also include pianos, a five-octave set of Malmark handbells, three-octave set of Malmark chimes and a three-octave set of Petit-Fritzen Dutch handbells.
