Our Ministries

United Methodist Women

The women of University Park United Methodist Church unite with nearly two million throughout the world to:

  • Know God and experience freedom as whole persons, through Jesus Christ
  • Develop a creative, supportive fellowship
  • Expand mission through participation in the global ministries of the church

As United Methodist Women, we assume many roles but we share a common worldwide commitment to be faithful followers of Jesus Christ as we seek to bring our faith to life in our service to others. The UMW efforts support many programs that strengthen our community, our church and the world including:

  • Fundraisers for church activities such as Vacation Bible School
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Methodist Hospital infant support programs and auxillary
  • Project Transformation reading programs
  • Bethlehem Center
  • C.C. Young Retirement Community
  • Open Door Preschool
  • Scholarship support and fundraising
  • Wesley-Rankin Community Center
  • Global women's education programs through Call to Prayer and Self Denial

Circles are groups that meet monthly and discuss topics such as Bible study, spiritual growth and mission. Circles support a local mission chosen by the circle participants.

Deborah Circle

The Deborah Circle welcomes women of all ages who are mission-minded and want to nurture friendships. We enjoy fellowship and hands-on local mission projects. Deborah Circle meets at the church the second Monday of each month at 10am.

Mary Martha Circle

Dedicated women with young-adult children meet to plan volunteer projects that involve local mission partners such as Wesley-Rankin Community Center, Dallas Bethlehem Center, C.C. Senior Living Community, and Methodist Dallas Medical Center. They meet in members’  homes throughout the year.

Wesley Women

A diverse circle for all ages and stages, Wesley Women are single, married, widowed, divorced, long-time members of UPUMC, and newbies. We are united by our love of the Lord and a preference for evening gatherings. They are caring and sharing women who are willing to study, work, worry and worship TOGETHER. We meet once a month at 7 p.m. (usually on the second Monday) at the church.

Lydia Circle

Devoted to knowing the Lord and serving those in need while engaging with each other, Lydia Circle is a connected group of working (or recently working) professional women of all ages who meet monthly to alternately study the Bible, engage in mission, and spend time in fellowship. We welcome new members, new ideas, and new challenges. Meetings are typically the second Monday of the month at 6:30pm in the Caldwell Room at UPUMC.

For over 140 years, members of United Methodist Women and predecessor organizations have been involved in mission that includes prayer, study, and action.  The Reading Program is a study opportunity, but it should also lead to action.
