MEETING NEEDS
In addition to our Mission Action Council approved partners, we have additional local and global organizations you can help support. Below is a list of these outreach opportunities and the UPUMC mission liaison.

BREAD MINISTRY
Every day of the week volunteers from UPUMC pick up day-old breads from local grocery stores and deliver them to nonprofits to help feed our neighbors. The time commitment is about 2 hours and volunteers rotate on a schedule.

COMMUNITY BOOK PROJECT
Each year we raise funds to get new children’s and young adult books into the hands of students supported by our mission partners at Wesley-Rankin, Agape UMC Not-Home-Alone afterschool program, Dunbar Elementary, Project Transformation, North Texas, Grace UMC Open Door Pre-School.

Volunteers from UPUMC assist at Dunbar as reading buddies 1-on-1 and work with students on areas where they need extra help.

We collect new and gently used clothes and shoes for women, men and children to benefit the Family Place domestic violence shelter. Donations can be dropped off in the marked closet by the front desk.
