Children and Families Ministries

Children are a welcome and integral part of life at University Park United Methodist Church. Beginning when they are baptized as infants, our children's programming provides a nurturing environment and strong Christian foundation that grows as your child grows, helping to bring their faith to life.
Volunteers
Volunteers are the backbone of our ministry. We need parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to nurture our children each Sunday. Please contact Rachel Baughman if you would like information about volunteering.
Children and Family Ministry Mission Statement
Teaching children the Biblical and spiritual foundations of our faith, living out the faith that we claim through action in ministry, and experiencing fellowship with one another in Christian community. Visit the Children's Ministry staff page.
Council Purpose Statement
The responsibility of the Council is to set direction, propose calendar and programming needs and to work together with the congregation to carry out ministries to, by, for, and with children and their families. Visit the Children's Council page.
Childcare During Worship
During worship services, childcare is provided for children 4 years old and younger in a safe and secure environment. Check the signs at the doors in the first floor east wing of the church to determine the appropriate room for your child. Visit the childcare policies page for more information.
Children's Sunday School
On Sunday mornings, ages 4 - 2nd grade meets in the Children's Library for gathering at 9:45 a.m. Please sign your child in on the table outside the library and make sure they put on a wristband before entering the library.
See a list of Sunday School teachers, or visit the childcare policies page for more information.
Older Elementary Program
Children in third through fifth grade will temporarily meet upstairs in room 231 during this summer's renovations. The third-graders spend the whole year focused on learning about their Bible and how to use it.This fun and casual setting encourages fellowship and relevant Christian education to keep your child interested and inspired as he or she moves from being a young child toward Confirmation and the youth program.
