United Methodist Women The women of University Park United Methodist Church unite with nearly two million throughout the world to: How do we do this? Elected and appointed leaders meet monthly to discuss, disseminate information, plan programming, gather information, make decisions and affirm each other in our UMW roles. Circles meet monthly and study leaders present topics on Bible study, spiritual growth and mission. Circles are assigned to regularly contact homebound members as well as to support a local mission concern – in our case, Bethlehem Center, C.C. Young Home, Methodist Medical Center and Wesley-Rankin Community Center. Each circle decides what this involvement will entail. How do we fund our outreach efforts? Members pledge to our operating budget, and fundraising activities also generate money to support our missions. The budget is presented to the membership for approval. Two other events are held annually – a Service of Prayer & Self-Denial in the spring and the World Thank Offering in the fall with all proceeds going to Global Ministries. |
