Share God's Word Through Evangelism
University Park United Methodist Church is centered around "Bringing Faith to Life" – to our own lives, to the lives of those around us and to the lives of all of God’s people in all places in this world. That is the essence of evangelism.
The hymn, "This Is My Father’s World,” says it well:
The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!
Through singing, sharing, talking and learning about the Bible, we discover that when Jesus said, “Go and make disciples,” he was not simply instructing his disciples. He was instructing of us to go out an evangelize – to Bring Faith to Life!
The Gospel of Matthew records The Great Commission, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Evangelism is the primary purpose of everything done in God’s church. Collectively and individually, we are called by God to be obedient to the Holy Scriptures. We are called to be evangelists to Bring Faith to Life.
