Charitable Organizations

University Park United Methodist Church is proud to support the following charitable organizations through supply drives, special offerings and other efforts.

Agape Not Home Alone Program
The Agape Memorial Methodist Church in east Dallas provides a Christian-based after-school program for children ages 5-9 whose parents are working during after-school hours.  Through the program, approximately 30 children are picked up at school, supervised, fed and tutored until their parents pick them up.  Our church supports this program and is dedicated to ensuring its viability through contributions of time, materials, food and dollars.  Our members currently provide snacks for the children at least once a week and host holiday parties for them.

Bethlehem Center
The Dallas Bethlehem Center is dedicated to providing the children of South Dallas with a positive environment for growth, regardless of their economic status or family situation.

C.C. Young Memorial Center
C. C. Young is a multi-service retirement community dedicated to the elderly. 

CONTACT Crisis Line
CONTACT Crisis Line offers free, 24-hour, immediate and confidential one-on-one telephone counseling, crisis prevention and intervention, information and referral, emergency aid and community education and outreach.

Crossroads Community Services
Crossroads Community Services is an urban outreach program of First United Methodist Church of Dallas that provides rent and utility assistance; food and clothing assistance; and goals & budget management skills for low income and homeless persons living in Dallas.  CCS is now the largest distributor of food for the North Texas food Bank.

The Family Place
The mission of The Family Place is to eliminate family violence through intervention and proactive prevention, extensive community education, advocacy and assistance for victims and their families.

Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity
Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity is a Christian ministry that builds quality, affordable homes in partnership with deserving families.

Methodism's Breadbasket
Serving southeast Dallas, Methodism’s Breadbasket provides emergency food, prescription drugs and utility and rent assistance to needy families.

Methodist Children's Home
Methodist Children's Home is a childcare ministry founded in 1890.  The Home serves 500 children daily through residential care, a Boys Ranch, foster care and a college program.

North Dallas Shared Ministries
North Dallas Shared Ministries provides appropriate, effective, emergency assistance to low-income clients and patients and helps them to access health and community programs.

Vickery Meadow Learning Center
Vickery Meadow Learning Center is dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents in its community by teaching English literacy, which enhances personal freedom, helps with job security and strengthens families.

The Way Back House
The Way Back House is a private, non-profit halfway house for ex-offenders including parolees and probationers who are in need of housing, employment assistance and personal support in establishing a stable residence and lifestyle in the community.  Anyone interested in volunteering may contact Al Richard at 214-352-5674, ext. 12.

The Wesley Rankin Center
The Wesley Rankin Center offers a wide variety of programs to support children, youth, adults, and families in impoverished West Dallas neighborhoods.

The Wilkinson Center
The Wilkinson Center serves the needs of the poorest and most crime-ridden neighborhoods of East and Southeast Dallas, striving to show God’s love by offering hope and a hand-up to people living in poverty.  The Center serves between 15,000 and 20,000 people each year, half of which are children.
