United Methodists are very intentionally connectional people. We want to help connect people’s passions with the needs of others. At University Park UMC, we are committed to this, whether it’s connecting people with needs in the neighborhood, or places around the world. We stand by to help you get better acquainted, acclimated - connected - to the calling God has within your life. Your presence is a gift to our church family. My prayer is that our church family will be a gift to you.

Peace and Blessings,
Dr. Keith Boone
Senior Pastor

About Sunday School:

University Park United Methodist Church offers a variety of Sunday school classes for people of all ages. From birth through adulthood, our Sunday school classes seek to bring faith to life through Biblical study, fellowship, service to others, and care and support for each other. Whether a child or student, married or single, with or without children at home, church member or guest, we provide support and a firm foundation for a Christian lifestyle.

All Sunday School classes meet  from 9:45-10:45 a.m., between our two worship services. Most children's classes meet on the first floor, and most adult classes are on the second floor. Guests are always welcome. If you'd like to speak with someone about visiting a class or would like a member to host you, please call us at 214-368-1435.

We join with Agape Memorial UMC and Not Home Alone in celebrating their 26th year of providing excellent after school enrichment for children from Robert E. Lee Elementary School and John F. Kennedy Learning Center in East Dallas.

Not Home Alone (NHA) is an educational enrichment program for latchkey children attending 2 elementary schools in East Dallas. The program serves up to 30 children from grades K-6 for ages 5 through 12.  A large majority of the families in the area are economically disadvantaged, with the parents employed in low income jobs.  The focus of the program is to target the children who would otherwise be home alone, unsupervised and at-risk.

The Not Home Alone program provides:

  • a safe and nurturing place to be after school
  • a place where he/she can be tutored one-on-one
  • a place where children can experience some of the things that spark a youngster's zest for life
  • a place to learn to communicate through dialogue and other forms of expression and
  • a place to build self-esteem as well as higher level thinking and problem solving skills

Founded in 1992, NHA is in its 26th year of operation at Agape Memorial United Methodist Church. NHA is under the direction of Agape Memorial UMC's Outreach Committee.

Your prayers, volunteer participation, and/or financial donations are greatly appreciated.

UPUMC is honored and blessed to to be in partnership with Agape UMC and the Not Home Alone program.
