Minister of Congregational Care
Born in Plano, Blake grew up at Christ UMC before going to SMU and earning his undergraduate degrees in psychology and religious studies. It was there that he discerned a call to ministry through the SMU Wesley Foundation. After spending a year at the Louisiana Tech Wesley Foundation, Blake returned to SMU and earned his Master of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology in 2016. As the last part of his degree, Blake spent a year as a ministry intern here at UPUMC before spending the summer at Methodist Dallas Medical Center as a chaplain in their CPE program. Through these ministry experiences, Blake discerned a call especially to pastoral care, and so he is incredibly grateful to be serving in that role here.
